Indiana and Notre Dame square off tonight in the first game of the expanded College Football Playoff and Doug thinks it may be the most significant day in the history of college football. After literally decades of calls for a system to determine a true National Champion, it is finally here. No more co-champions or undefeated teams being left out in the cold; instead, we have the most fair and equitable system possible.
Doug Gottlieb: “This is the fairest and most equitable this sport has ever, and probably will ever be...I didn’t say it’s perfect. It wouldn’t be the teams I would pick, but no one can say it’s not fair...So, the most fair they’re ever going to be, the most equitable they’ll ever be, and the first ever true National Champion in college football.”
