ALEXANDRIA, VA -- In a recent study by The Society for Human Resource Management, Washington D.C. ranked in the bottom 10 cities with least fulfilled workers.
The survey found that a toxic workplace culture was one of the top reasons for employee turnover and workplace instability.
"Based upon this research, we know that American workers generally aren't happy and we need to do something to make them more fulfilled and more committed to their employer to stay," Johnny C Taylor Jr. President and CEO of the Society for Human Resource Management told Washington's WONK FM.
SHRM estimates that cost of turnover is cost American businesses nearly $223 billion dollars over the past 5 years.
