ARLINGTON, VA — Marymount University Professor Eric Bubar is overhauling his lab to crank out reusable face shields for hospitals in the DC area and New York to help fill the gap between the healthcare community and the desperately needed personal protective equipment (PPE).
Before the pandemic, Bubar, a professor in the biology and physical sciences department, used the lab’s 3-D printers to help create prosthetics, but now has in the last month shifted his focus to creating face shields and ear savers.
