For the first time in more than 20 years, the outfield walls at Oriole Park at Camden Yards are going to be changed. More specifically, the left field walls are being adjusted, as the team says they are doing so to make it "fair for both pitchers and hitters."

An email was sent out to ticket holders whose seats will be eliminated by the changes. The left field walls will be pushed back and heightened ahead of the 2022 season. The wall could move back around 30 feet and will be heightened to as much as an additional five feet.

Oriole Park at Camden Yards has long been known as a "hitter friendly" ballpark favoring home runs. During the 2021 season, the Baltimore Orioles pitching staff had the worst ERA in the league and gave up the most home runs. But they also tied for the worst record in the MLB last season which doesn't help.

The ticket holders affected will be moved to other seats that the team says will be around the same distance from the action. 2022 marks the 30th anniversary of the opening of the ballpark.
