Winter Storm Warning Now in Effect for DC, Maryland, Virginia

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Washington, DC and parts of northern Virginia and Maryland as forecasted snow totals have increased during the day on Sunday.

The Winter Storm Warning now stretches to cover the areas of the Harrisonburg area of Virginia to parts of Howard County and Anne Arundel County in Maryland.

Snow totals for the weather system have increased, with many parts of northern Virginia, the District and southern Maryland being forecasted to receive 5-8" of snow.

Baltimore City is now expected to see between 4-5" of snow.

The Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 11 PM tonight to 1 PM on Monday. The National Weather Service is warning that travel during these times could be very difficult and to pack emergency food and water in your vehicle if you must travel.
