Doorbell Camera Catches the Moment a Baltimore Coal Facility Explodes

An explosion at a coal facility in Baltimore on Thursday morning sent a shockwave across parts of the city and huge plumes of smoke could be seen from miles away.

The explosion reportedly happened at around 11:30 AM at a CSX Curtis Bay Coal Terminal on Benhill Avenue. Thankfully, no injuries were reported by the Baltimore City Fire Department.

A 5-story coal silo is believed to have been destroyed by what's called a coal dust explosion. Coal was being transported on a conveyor belt at the plant at the time of the incident. However, there were no signs of a gas leak. Authorities are still investigating the area.
