A DC Popeyes was recently shut down by the health department after a TikTok video went viral showing multiple rats scurrying across the kitchen at night. Now, a spokesperson for Popeyes says they have terminated the franchise agreement with the operator of the Capitol Hills restaurant. Popeyes says the location is being closed "indefinitely."

In the video posted by @blaqazzrick01 on TikTok, the man taking the video shows what he says are 15 rats crawling around the floor and climbing up the wall and says, "You still love that chicken from Popeyes?"

After the video started to make rounds on the Internet, the DC health department was notified. They visiting the location and found a total of 17 violations. Funnily enough, the violations that caused the shut down didn't have to do with rats. The inspector reportedly found raw chicken and other "potentially hazardous foods" were being stored at improper temperatures.

The video has been viewed nearly 2M times, and the uploader says he has been suspended from his job for exposing the rats.
