Fan Who Dumped Popcorn on Russell Westbrook Banned for Life

An ugly series of events took place during the NBA Playoff game between the Washington Wizards and Philadelphia 76ers last night, resulting in a fan being banned from the 76ers' Wells Fargo Center for life.

Wizards star Russell Westbrook was forced to leave the game after injuring his ankle in the loss, and when he was heading back to the locker room, a fan dumped a bucket of popcorn all over him. Westbrook was livid and had to be restrained from going after the fan following the deplorable move.

After the game, Westbrook did not hold back on his feelings, saying, "To be blatantly honest, man, this s**t is getting out of hand, especially for me. The amount of disrespect, the amount of fans just doing whatever the f**k they want to do, it's just out of pocket, man. It's out of pocket, seriously... A guy wouldn't come up on the street and pour popcorn on my head because he knows what would happen."

Even LeBron James had Westbrook's back. "By the way WE AS THE PLAYERS wanna see who threw the popcorn on Russ while he was leaving the game tonight with an injury!! There's cameras all over arenas so there's no excuse!"

Today, the 76ers say they have identified the culprit, have pulled his season ticket membership and have banned him from ever coming back to the arena.

The team released the following statement:

"We apologize to Russell Westbrook and the Washington Wizards for being subjected to this type of unacceptable and disrespectful behavior. There is no place for it in our sport or arena."
