White House Selling Big Infrastructure Plan

Joe Biden Holds First Cabinet Meeting Of Presidency

(Washington, DC) -- President Biden, Vice President Harris and Cabinet officials will be actively selling Biden's sweeping new infrastructure plan. It faces a rough road in Congress with strong Republican opposition. During a briefing, Press Secretary Jen Psaki said the nation's infrastructure is outdated and is in need of serious upgrades. She cited one poll showing widespread public support for the plan, including raising the corporate tax rate. Psaki insisted that the nation's wealthiest corporations must start paying their fair share.

Psaki said she hopes to see the more than two-trillion-dollar infrastructure bill passed by summer. She was also pressed about reaching out to Republicans. Psaki argued that renovating the nation's infrastructure should be a bipartisan issue. She again challenged skeptical Republicans to offer alternative ideas.
