(Washington, DC) -- Washington, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser is urging Americans to take part in next week's presidential inauguration virtually. President-elect Joe Biden will be sworn-in on January 20th. During a news briefing, Bowser again condemned last week's deadly attack at the U.S. Capitol. She called it an imminent threat to democracy and a seminal moment in American history. Bowser said she has asked the Interior Department to cancel all public gathering permits in DC, from now through January 24th. Inaugural security is expected to be unprecedented, featuring multiple layers of military and law enforcement entities.
