Gov. Northam: Parts of Virginia to Move Into Phase 2 of Reopening

Virginia makes plans to move into Phase 2 of reopening.

RICHMOND, VA -- Most of Virginia will move into phase two of reopening on Friday. That's the message from Governor Ralph Northam at a press conference yesterday.

Restaurants will be allowed to have indoor dining with 50 percent capacity, and gyms may reopen with only 30 percent capacity. Swimming pools are allowed to reopen for the summer.

People may also head to museums and zoos beginning Friday. Gatherings of up to 50 people are allowed.

The Governor said Northern Virginia and Richmond will remain in phase one, and he did not say when they would move to phase two. Northam said he would provide more details about phase two, tomorrow.
