ROCKVILLE, MD -- Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich announced he will be extending the county's COVID-19 restrictions, despite state's move to reopen tomorrow.
The county will remain closed with the exception of essential businesses and personnel.
Earlier this week Maryland Governor Larry Hogan announced he would be easing the state's restrictions, but left the final discretion to the counties to decide whether or not to move into the first phase of the reopening process. Those state restrictions will lift tomorrow at 5:00 PM.
The county currently has the second highest number of cases within the state.
