An estimated 3.8 million concussions occur in the United States every year during competitive sports. The CDC reports 70% of those are kids.

Researchers have long studied how head trauma could lead to serious health issues later in life. Some new VR softward technology has just been released, which offers an interactive experience for users to learn what a concussion feels like and learn about the consequences after.

CrashCourse VR software puts users in a simulated high school football game where they are hit and sustain a concussion. The user gets a realistic look at how concussions impact your brain.

The goal of the program is to teach young athletes about head safety and how to properly diagnose and treat concussions. The program was developed by TeachAidsPop Warner Little Scholars and USA Football, along with researchers from Stanford University.
