Tesla vehicles will soon be equipped with external speakers to warn pedestrians. This is because many people don’t hear a Tesla coming, because it is so quiet. The United States and Europe both have new regulations regarding quiet vehicles.
The company has also been working to improve artificial intelligence in the vehicles, to give people better control. Eventually, CEO Elon Musk says the vehicles will be able to talk back. Musk didn't say when the feature could be ready, but he did post a video to Twitter recently of a Tesla telling bystanders to stop staring and hop in.
