SAFRICA-BRITAIN-ROYALS

LONDON, ENGLAND —With Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announcing their plans to step back from their roles as senior members of the royal family, social media is aflutter with job suggestions for the two to consider.

The Surrey Police, which is located southwest of London, tweeted that they were recruiting new people, suggesting they were both close to Windsor and Sussex.Meanwhile, many pointed to the Duchess's former career as an actress, suggesting a role in the Netflix show "The Crown."

Ava DuVernay, director of "When They See Us," offered up her directoral services for the project. However, the impending separation means the couple would eventually be free to pursue book deals, public speaking, and brand partnerships.

Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth is agreeing to what Buckingham Palace calls a "transition" period as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle step back as full-time royal family members.

In a statement from Buckingham Palace, the Queen said the family had "very constructive" conversations on Monday and they are entirely supportive of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Back across the pond, Brits living in New York City are sharing their thoughts as the royal family goes through a transition period with regards to Prince Harry and his wife Megan Markle.

Sean Kavanagh-Dowsett owns Tea & Sympathy in the West Village, and says while he wants the couple to be happy, there's a level of responsibility that comes with being a royal. He adds that it's fair to say the press and public have been hard on Markle, something that Harry also experienced with regards to his late-mother Diana.

Prince Harry and Megan, the Duke and Dutchess of Sussex, announced last week that they'd like to step back from their senior roles within the family.
