WASHINGTON, DC — There are reports the White House is planning to livestream construction of a border wall.
The Washington Post reports senior adviser Jared Kushner and other White House officials are planning to launch 24-hour web cameras at a construction site on the southern border.
A senior official called it a "wall cam," and said it would launch early next year.The report said the livestream is an effort to drum up support from the public and to show that President Trump is keeping his campaign promise to build a wall at the U.S.-Mexico border.
This comes just a month after DHS announced it’s speeding up construction of the border wall in southern Texas. Department of Homeland Security officials say an environmental waiver has been issued to help build 65 miles of new border wall in the Rio Grande Valley Sector.
Customs and Border Protection says it's the busiest sector in the country, accounting for about 40 percent of illegal immigrant arrests.It also ranks first in the amount of seized cocaine and marijuana along the southwest border for fiscal year 2019.
