GARDENA, CA — A community is mourning the loss of a missing cadet found dead last week.
A West Point cadet who has been missing since last week has been found dead. Twenty-year-old Kade Kurita, of Gardena, California was discovered at West Point.
West Point's superintendent, Lieutenant General Darryl Williams, offered condolences, adding that they're grieving the loss of their cadet.
Police have not indicated where the body was found, but say foul play is not suspected.
An M4 rifle was also missing. The cause of death is under investigation.
Kurita was reported missing Friday when he missed a military skills competition, launching a four-day search for the California native, who would have graduated in 2021.
