The U.S. Office of Personnel Management is welcoming their 12th Director.
President Trump nominated Dale Cabaniss for the position on March 4, 2019, and the Senate confirmed her on September 11. She is assuming the position from Margaret Weichert who is returning to her full-time position as the Deputy Director for Management at the Office of Management and Budget.
Director Cabaniss has extensive experience working with Congress, the Executive Branch, and other stakeholders on legislative and policy matters important to the Federal Civil Service. She has served through two administrations, including serving more than 20 years as a senior staff member at the United States Senate overseeing civil service issues on the Committee on Governmental Affairs (now the Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee) and at the Committee on Appropriations.
“I’m honored by the opportunity to serve as the Director of OPM. I look forward to delivering effective and efficient government solutions and taking on the challenges facing Federal employees and their agencies as we work together on behalf of the American people,” said Director Cabaniss.
Director Cabaniss holds a B.A. from the University of Georgia and a J.D. from the Catholic University of America.
