WASHINGTON, DC -- The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) is urging federal workforces to maintain a healthy work-life balance in recognition of National Work and Family Month.

The agency said in a statement, “Work-life balance is something OPM is adamant in supporting, as employee well-being is critical to agencies being able to maximize their mission delivery, customer service, and stewardship of taxpayer dollars.”

In a memo to HR Directors, OPM encouraged leadership to share the agency’s materials, practices and programs hoping to increase awareness to free resources that are currently available to employees. The memo highlighted programs for next year that include family and dependent care, health and wellness, Employee Assistance Programs, and telework.

Employees should contact their agency's Work-Life Coordinator(s) for more information on agency-specific program offerings. October, 2019 marks the 16th year of National Work and Family Month.
