The Trump administration is considering diverting billions of dollars from military funding to pay for the southern border wall.
The Washington Post reports President Trump has pledged to complete nearly 500 miles of the barrier before the 2020 election. However, that promise will cost about $18.4 billion dollars, a lot more than has been allocated.
So far, the administration has plans to divert $7.2 billion from the Defense Department. Those funds were intended to repair or upgrade U.S. military installations.
