Abdul-Majeed Marouf Ahmed Alani was arrested yesterday on suspicion of disabling a navigation system on a plane two months ago.

He was a mechanic for American Airlines, and he reportedly claimed he was upset about contract negotiations. According to court documents, he didn't want to cause harm.Instead, he was apparently hurting financially because of an ongoing contract dispute and hoped sabotaging the plane would lead to overtime work.
