A program that supports both current and former service members as they finish up their education has marked a milestone by celebrating a decade of operation.
The Department of Veterans Affairs’ VetSuccess on Campus Program provides vocational rehabilitation counselors on VSOC school locations to support eligible students. It began as a pilot at the University of South Florida in 2009, and today supports 104 schools nationwide.
“VA is committed to ensuring eligible beneficiaries have the opportunity to achieve their career objectives,” VA Secretary Robert Wilkie said in announcing the 10th anniversary of the program. “The VSOC program is a great example of how VA is delivering on that commitment.”
The program helps guide participants on their career paths, reach educational and career targets and access their VA benefits. Over 44,000 participants received help through the program last year.
