Navy Uniform App Gets Makeover

USS Constellation Returns Home From Persian Gulf Area

The Navy’s app for uniform regulations recently underwent a facelift, and now has a new look — and name.

Rechristened MyNavy UNIFORMS, the updated app features two new chapters on grooming standards and on identification badges/awards/insignia. The app also addresses changes in hairstyles for female sailors and includes photos of authorized and unauthorized hairstyles.

“With uniforms being phased-out and phased-in, and grooming standards changing, it can be difficult for Sailors to navigate regulations and instructions to stay on top of the guidance for properly wearing their uniforms components and accouterments,” according to a Navy release.

The app also features frequently asked questions and a library that links to resources addressing proper wear and maintenance of uniforms. The latest COMUSFTFORCOM message covering the Improved Flame Resistant Variant Coverall is also included.

The MyNavy UNIFORMS app can be downloaded from the Navy App Locker without a Common Access Card.
