Cyber.mil Becomes DISA’s New Home for Cyber Standards

The Defense Information Systems Agency has announced a new home for its cybersecurity standards.

The recently unveiled cyber.mil now houses DISA’s Security Requirements Guides and Security Technology Implementation Guides. These were previously hosted on the Information Assurance Support Environment portal, https://iase.disa.mil, which the agency said it’s no longer updating.

The new DOD Cyber Exchange portal at cyber.mil, which can only be accessed by employees with a Pentagon-issued Common Access Card, features security guides, security content automation protocols, a STIG viewer capability, a STIG applicability tool and a Windows 10 Secure Host Baseline download.

DISA said these changes were announced at a May 16 event in Baltimore by Sue Kreigline, chief of DISA’s cyber standards branch. The branch also unveiled a new STIG collaboration portal, which enables technology discussions among subject matter experts. The new website is only for CAC holders and can be found at https://software.forge.mil/sf/go/proj2530?uri=/sf/go/proj2530.
