A military reserve force and a research university have inked a deal that will create collaborative education opportunities for next-generation cyberwarriors.
The Massachusetts Air National Guard’s 102nd Intelligence Wing and the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth signed a memorandum of understanding late last month for future training and interaction between military personnel and university students and faculty.
Under the agreement, airmen will help the university to offer the most relevant academic and cybersecurity courses, and UMass Dartmouth will provide the 102nd Intelligence Wing access to mobile training teams to keep military personnel up to date with recent developments in computer forensics.
The program provides internships to students and offers them pathways to formal professional mentorships. It also creates a joint campaign to raise awareness about the educational benefits earned through military service and specific career opportunities with the 102nd Intelligence Wing on Joint Base Cape Cod.
