Coast Guard Teams with LinkedIn to Help Spouses Get Jobs

A newly launched partnership between a military branch and a social media giant intends to help the spouses of the service find employment.

The agreement provides a free 1-year premium LinkedIn membership to Coast Guard spouses after a permanent change of station to help them get jobs.

The Pentagon previously partnered with LinkedIn to give Defense Department spouses a free LinkedIn premium membership for a year before and after each PCS move. That deal excluded the U.S. Coast Guard.

The new deal was announced May 1 by Second Lady Karen Pence and Homeland Security Acting Secretary Kevin McAleenan.

“We are committed to helping as much as possible, and today I’m glad we can make that next move a little bit easier through this partnership with LinkedIn,” McAleenan said in a statement. “And I want to thank LinkedIn for partnering with us on this. Helping families get settled in a new community after a PCS move will go a long way.”
